‘PL Debut Soon?’ ‘Give The Lad A Chance’ – West Ham Fans Back U23 Starlet’s First Team Claims After Goal And Assist

West Ham winger Nathan Holland was an in excellent form for the Under 23s last night.

The 20-year-old scored and provided an assist during a 2-2 draw against Derby County in Premier League 2.

Supporters on Twitter would like to see manager Manuel Pellegrini give Holland some opportunities in the first team before the end of the season:

Holland has already made his senior debut, after playing the last half hour in the 3-0 win over Bolton in the Carabao Cup last campaign.

Since then, though, the closest he has come to first-team action was being named on the bench for the cup ties against AFC Wimbledon in both the FA Cup and League Cup.

Pellegrini doesn’t shy away from giving youngsters chances as we have already seen. Declan Rice, Grady Diagana and Ben Johnson have all been afforded opportunities by the Chilean.

Has Holland done enough to be the latest academy player to make his breakthrough at senior level? We shall have to wait and see.
