West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini thinks Lukasz Fabianski is deserving of all the praise he gets for his performances in a Hammers shirt.
The Polish international joined from Swansea for £7m last summer and was awarded the club’s player of the year in his first season at the club. Pellegrini says he can’t speak highly enough about the goalkeeper:
“I think last season he was one of the two or three best goalkeepers in the league. I hope, at the end of this season, we can say exactly the same for him, because the way he works, he deserves it.”
Fabianski has a shot/save percentage of 74.1% this campaign. If you compare that to last season, when he had a 73% shot/save ratio, you can see clearly that the 34-year-old is continuing his excellent form.
The shot-stopper will likely have a few saves to make this afternoon when the Hammers travel to the South Coast for a difficult encounter against Bournemouth.
West Ham lost 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium last season, and they will be hoping for an improved result as they look to keep up their good start in the league this campaign.
