Paul Merson Hails West Ham And Arsenal Target Who Be Believes “Would Be A Proper Addition”

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has praised Manchester City fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko for his ability, labelling him as the most underrated player in the Premier League last season.

The Ukrainian international has been linked with moves to West Ham, Arsenal, Everton and Leicester and Merson claims he would be an excellent signing for most top-flight clubs:

“I think a few top teams will look to buy him this summer because he isn’t a guaranteed starter for Manchester City. Zinchenko doesn’t get the credit he deserves and would be a proper addition to any team in world football, it’ll be interesting to see where he lands up.”

There are some conflicting reports in terms of whether Zinchenko wants to leave the Etihad. It has been suggested in the local media that the 25-year-old is open to signing a new contract, while others insist that the player would consider leaving the Premier League champions for more game time.

A fee above £30m is likely to be needed for City to consider selling the utility player, and that could prove to be a major stumbling block for West Ham, who are also looking to recruit a centre-back and a striker during the summer transfer window.
