Crystal Palace are readying a €23m (£20m) bid for Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa, according to FCInternews.it. The website claims West Ham are still interested in the Brazilian but Manuel Pellegrini’s future is complicating matters.
With that being the case, the Eagles are looking to exploit the situation, along with Bundesliga club Schalke and Flamengo. The forward is currently on loan at the Brazilian club and scored two late goals to win the Copa Libertadores final against River Plate at the weekend.
However, Flamengo are unable to pay Inter’s €25m to €30m asking price and Barbosa is keen to try again in Europe if he can find a club.
West Ham were linked with the 23-year-old earlier this year, and they are likely to be keen on signing another striker, after the struggles that both Sebastien Haller and Albian Ajeti have had recently.
Barbosa, who is nicknamed “Gabigol”, has scored 31 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for Flamengo this season.
