West Ham forward Sebastien Haller has been at the London Stadium for just over seven months now, and the Frenchman has done little to justify his £45m transfer fee from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 25-year-old has only managed to score six goals in 26 appearances this campaign with his last goal coming against Bournemouth on New Year’s Day.
Asked to assess the record signing’s impact, fans on Twitter have delivered a damning verdict on Haller’s performances:
Over paid for and over hyped.
Change my mind.

Totally a waste off money,,

Lazy. If he wanted that ball he would work for it like Antonio does and create chances for himself. Waiting for the ball never pays off. Show you want it and things will happen

He doesn’t require service or assists, which are nonsense stats and concepts. He has no desire or motivation once he gets the ball and his finishing is underwhelming. He needs to make things happen not goal hang. He’s lost all motivation.

1) Good player in Germany but the prem is a different ball game. Lazy with a poor attitude

Had plenty of service and plenty of chances… drop him and put Antonio up top

Not had a single shot in the last 4 games.

The least you would expect from a player is workrate, I can't defend him. He looks a decent finisher, but nothing more. For the money we paid for him, he hasn't got the quality needed imo.

Not physically strong enough for the premiership yet, gets bullied ⚒

For us to pay £45M for a player unproven in the Premier League, was absolutely bonkers IMO

It’s always difficult when adapting to a new league, but there are major questions about Haller’s suitability for English football. He is not very mobile and can’t put in the same sort of work rate as someone like Michail Antonio.
Although he is tall, he is not necessarily the strongest in the air and has struggled to impose himself on opposing defenders. His lack of goals means his mediocre all-round game cannot so easily be forgiven, and he will need to finish the season strongly if he isn’t going to be shipped out in the summer.
