West Ham are in pole position to sign Queens Park Rangers attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
The former BBC reporter claims that the Hammers are ahead of Tottenham and Crystal Palace in the race to snap up the 22-year-old.
Manager David Moyes has been a busy man since the 3-1 win over Watford on Friday, which all but sealed Premier League safety. As well as being spotted at Wigan’s game against Charlton at the Valley, he also managed to make the trip to Loftus Road to see QPR in action versus Millwall later that day.
Eze won’t be sold on the cheap, though, with it being claimed that QPR will demand as much as £20m for the playmaker. Whether West Ham’s transfer budget will stretch that far, it is questionable.
Sales may be required to fund the transfer, with reports in recent days suggesting that both Manuel Lanzini and Fabian Balbuena could be allowed to leave this summer.
