Lukasz Fabianski

West Ham United’s Lukasz Fabianski is the second-oldest player in the league, just few months older than Ashley Young. He’s had a respectable career – perhaps his best moment came when he won the FA Cup in 2014 with Arsenal.

He has been the Hammers’ first-choice ‘keeper this season, despite his age. Generally, goalkeepers tend to play for longer than outfield players, due to the lesser amount of running they have to do – Fabianski certainly hasn’t missed a beat.

A wonderful shot-stopper, his ability to claim crosses and deal with set pieces often leaves something to be desired – but his command over his area has improved as he has gotten older.

Fabianski is a doubt for West Ham’s crunch clash with Southampton in the relegation battle the club find themselves in, and would surely be a big plus to the confidence of the team if he played.
