With West Ham’s move for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana having stalled, supporters have been considering potential alternatives.
PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare has been on the radar of a number of Premier League teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Liverpool.
The Ivorian international reportedly has a €35m (£29.4m) release clause and plenty of fans on Twitter feel he would be a great signing for the Hammers:
Now this is a player we should go after. A powerhouse

Commented on this yesterday!
Think we should be all over it to be honest…
He’d massively sure up the defence & allow others to bomb forward, including Aguerd & Soucek, while helping Rice get a bit more freedom.— WHUFC_⚒️_Football_Sloth (@WhufcSloth) July 31, 2022
At the moment, it does look as if manager David Moyes is looking for a different type of midfielder to Sangare, who is known for his strength and ball-carrying skills.
Recruiting Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski seems to be the priority at the moment, although there are no guarantees that West Ham can get a deal over the line for the Pole.
Sangare could well be on the list of backup options if the Irons are not able to sign their preferred targets in the coming weeks.
