West Ham attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson was given a rare chance to start by David Moyes in the 4-1 defeat to Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The Brazilian may have got the assist for Robert Snodgrass’s goal but his overall performance was pretty poor, leading some supporters on Twitter to question whether he has the desire to get his place back in the team:
No stomach for the fight. Maybe they would have found that out if they had scouted him properly

Felipe Anderson only looks good when West Ham are cruising games against woeful opposition – like against Charlton and Hull City. As soon as the going gets tough against an opposition of high quality, such as Everton and other PL teams, Anderson doesn’t have the heart or desire.

And yet still people stick up for him… probably cos he has a 84 Fifa Rating ?

With reports claiming that the Hammers have had a bid rejected for Club Brugge attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken, it does suggest that Anderson does not have a long term future at the London Stadium.
West Ham already have Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini who can play in the advanced midfield role (or from the left-wing) so adding Vanaken would surely suggest that Anderson is not in Moyes’ plans.
Arsenal were linked with the 27-year-old earlier in the summer but their interest seems to have dissipated. It does look like the midfielder will remain at the club until the January transfer window.
