West Ham centre-back Craig Dawson put in another excellent performance against Burnley yesterday to help his team secure a narrow 1-0 home win.
Since arriving from Watford on loan back in October, the 30-year-old has barely featured but injuries have meant the defender has started the last four games, and he has taken his chance with both hands.
With the Hammers having an option to buy Dawson for only £2m, a large number of supporters on Twitter want the club to trigger the clause and bring the centre-half in on a permanent basis:
No brainer tbh…..⚒

Yeah, for the money it makes perfect sense

Why was he kept on the bench for so long to start the year? I know Moyes likes to bring players along slowly but he’s been so good it’s hard to believe he wasn’t ready sooner. ⚒⚒⚒

That's sounds like the perfect solution…. we are more than likely to do it in summer so makes sense to do it now & get another body on loan

He’s done enough to deserve a contract until end of season

He don’t seem like a fella that would switch off once it is made perm either.
Its another leader brought to the team… Soucek was another.
Just need some more pace to come off the bench!

He has been superb. I was one who doubted it & was disappointed with the level of signing, but he is very solid & effective. Enables Ogbonna to show how good he is too. Don’t feel on edge with him as you do with Diop or Balbuena

He’s definitely played for a perm contract .. well done !

One of the benefits of snapping him up permanently this month is that it would free up another domestic loan slot for West Ham. The club are thought to be looking for a new striker but, so far, they have been unable to secure a deal at the budget they have set. Signing a temporary solution this month maybe something the club are considering instead.
