Nizaar Kinsella Rates The Chances Of Declan Rice Signing A New Contract At West Ham As FOUR PL Clubs Circle

Declan Rice

West Ham captain Declan Rice is still “unlikely” to sign a new deal with the Hammers, according to the Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

There was some hope that lifting the Europa Conference League trophy would persuade the 24-year-old to remain at the London Stadium but Kinsella says that, while it could give West Ham a “better chance”, a departure this summer is still on the cards.

Kinsella claims that Arsenal are the “frontrunners”, but the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City remain in contention for Rice’s signature.

While the England international’s current deal expires in 2024, the club do have an option to extend it for a further year, so the Irons can still hold out for a sizeable transfer fee.

Considering Rice’s recent form, which has seen him score in his last two games, it could lead to the midfielder’s asking price increasing by a significant amount.
