New Transfer Twist As West Ham Eye Chelsea Midfield Dynamo To Become Rice’s Successor

West Ham are keen on recruiting Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as a “replacement” for captain Declan Rice, according to the Evening Standard.

The Hammers were linked with a loan offer for the 23-year-old back in the summer, along with Crystal Palace and Newcastle, but the player remained at Stamford Bridge.

However, with the Blues keen on balancing the books, Gallagher could be sacrificed at the end of the season, and West Ham could be the main beneficiary.

With Chelsea also interested in Rice, along with Arsenal and Manchester United, there is a chance that they will ask for some sort of part exchange.

Previous reports have, though, suggested that the Irons would want straight-up cash for Rice, so it is likely that Gallagher would end up being a completely separate deal.

The England international does have plenty of admirers. In addition to Palace and the Magpies, Liverpool have also been mentioned as potential suitors in recent weeks so we shall see how this story unfolds.
