Moyes Looking To Secure West Ham’s Attack With Serie A Powerhouse

There’s a lot of speculation around how West Ham’s attack will look like after January 31st. Some say one of Javier Hernandez, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho might leave meaning that Moyes is fully entitled to sign a new striker.

According to The Sun, the Hammers might have found a player that seems a good combination of strength, skill and speed. It seems he has all the main qualities of the 3 possible departures mentioned above. His name – Khouma Babacar.

The 24-year-old who has entered his last year of contract, is currently one of Fiorentina’s main goal scorers and even though he averages a goal every 3-4 games, he would surely improve in the Premier League. Why? Because he is on an ascending trend and because Serie A football is much more defense-focused than the PL.

Babacar is valued at around £15million which West Ham could get if they sell were to sell Hernandez as has been suggested in the press as the Mexican did not fare well under David Moyes at Man United and is not exactly getting a boat-load of chances under him at West Ham.

The first has been linked to a surprise move to London rivals Chelsea while the Mexican international has been rumored to be looking for a change to jumpstart his career. Currently he is a bit out of form and has lost contact with the first team – he rarely plays the full 90 minutes and got a lot of West Ham fans concerned with his form.

One more thing to consider regarding the perspective of signing Babacar is that Moyes has begun his negotiations for the Senegal international hoping to bring him on loan. This could point towards the fact that he is not 100% sure the 24-year-old would fit in right away. It is a valid concern though as the PL is a totally different thing than Serie A.
