Moyes Gives Pessimistic Injury News On Key West Ham Star Ahead Of Burnley Clash

West Ham manager David Moyes says he is unsure whether Sebastien Haller will return to the squad for Wednesday evening’s game against Burnley.

The club’s record signing has not played since the restart due to a hip problem and was once again absent for the 2-2 draw versus Newcastle yesterday. Asked after the game at St James’ Park about the Frenchman’s fitness, Moyes replied:

“We’re not sure how Seb Haller is, how he will be for midweek.”

Haller was pencilled in to make his comeback against Burnley and Moyes had revealed last week that the 26-year-old was back in training ahead of the match against the Magpies.

However, it is not clear whether the forward has suffered a setback or simply hasn’t recovered full fitness as quickly as hoped.

Michail Antonio has done a stellar job of providing cover in Haller’s absence, having scored in his last two games, but Hammers fans will be keen to have their main striker back for some crucial games in the run-in.
