Moyes Gives Hint On Whether New West Ham Signing Will Make His Debut Against City

West Ham manager David Moyes has suggested that winger Jarrod Bowen could feature against Manchester City tomorrow as he looks to add more goals to the team.

The Hammers boss refused to confirm whether the £22m January signing would start the game at the Etihad but he did seem to hint at the 23-year-old being involved in some capacity:

“I wouldn’t be direct as that [to say he will start] and give you the answer even if I was. But obviously, he is a talent. We need goals, he can do that. I am also very aware that we don’t need to put pressure on him too quickly.”

Bowen does have an excellent goalscoring record in the Championship, having bagged 38 goals in 75 appearances for Hull over the past two seasons.

Especially considering he is a winger by trade, it is an extremely impressive strike rate and Irons fans will be hoping that he can replicate that form in the Premier League.

West Ham have just scored just 30 goals in 25 league games this campaign, which is the joint sixth-worst record in the division, and if Bowen can start finding the net, it could help his new club get out of trouble at the bottom of the table.
