Moyes Eyeing Loan Swoop With Purchase Option For 16M Rated La Liga Defender

West Ham manager David Moyes has a long-standing interest in Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo, according to reports in the Catalan media.

The 24-year-old, who signed from Real Betis for €18m (£16m) in August 2019, has barely featured for Barca this season, making just one substitute appearance in the league.

Firpo could, therefore, be available in the January transfer window and the Hammers could table a loan offer, with an option to buy at the end of the season.

The Dominican Republic international is equally comfortable playing as a wingback so he would be a perfect candidate to provide competition for Arthur Masuaku on the left flank.

West Ham may have some rivals for Firpo’s signature, though, with Granada and Napoli among the clubs who are believed to be interested in the fullback. It remains to be seen whether the Irons will make their move for the player in the New Year.
