MLS Club Reveal Price Tag For Reported West Ham Transfer Target

West Ham are interested in signing Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron, according to reports in South America.

However, the MLS club’s president Darren Eales has said that the Paraguayan international would cost in excess of £30m.

A report last week suggested that Arsenal were closing in on a £11m deal for Almiron in the January transfer window, but when asked about the story, Eales refuted the claims as a fabrication:

“It would have to take at least triple that (£11 million fee) for me to even get out of bed and think about any bids for Almiron.”

Almiron has been in outstanding form for Atlanta since he arrived in the US from Argentinian club Lanus. In his first year in the States, he helped his club to the playoffs contributing nine goals before his side were knocked out by Columbus Crew.

During his second campaign in MLS, he has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists in 32 regular season games.

Atlanta have again qualified for the end of the season playoffs, sitting top of the Eastern Conference heading into their final fixture against Toronto on Sunday.
