Michael Owen Predicts The Result As West Ham Take On Manchester United

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen believes West Ham will pick up a point when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The Hammers suffered a surprise defeat to Leeds at home last weekend but Owen feels that the way manager David Moyes sets up his team lends itself to playing against the bigger clubs:

“The Hammers’ top-four push has stuttered in recent weeks, and they really can’t afford too many more slip-ups, particularly in games they are favoured in. I’d expect a response from West Ham here. Strangely, they often perform better against the big sides, it suits their style.”

Owen has gone with a 1-1 draw, which seems like a pretty fair prediction. Manchester United may be picking up results under manager Ralf Rangnick but they do look very vulnerable at the back.

If they concede the number of chances they did against Brentford on Wednesday night, you can bet your house that the likes of Jarrod Bowen will punish them more than the Bees managed to do.

While West Ham have been inconsistent recently, it would be no surprise at all if they really make a game of things at Old Trafford and get the result they need.
