Michael Owen Predicts The Result As West Ham Play Chelsea

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is expecting West Ham to suffer a narrow defeat when they take on Chelsea in the lunchtime kickoff tomorrow.

The Hammers have hit a rough patch of form but, despite the dip, Owen says it will be a tight affair at the London Stadium, with the away side just coming out on top:

“West Ham are on a poor run of form at the minute. The good news is that they remain firmly in the top four race, but they need to start picking up more points. It wasn’t a dominating victory, but Wednesday’s win over Watford was vital for Chelsea. My only concern at the minute for them is the number of goals they are scoring. Lukaku is still working his way back to full fitness, so they need him back fit and firing. This will be a very even game, but I can see Chelsea narrowly edging it.”

Owen has gone with a 2-1 win to the Blues, which is not a surprising prediction, considering the two teams are going into the game in contrasting form.

West Ham are at home, though, and manager David Moyes will be keen to use the London derby as motivation to get his players back up and running after a difficult couple of weeks.

As Owen mentions, Chelsea weren’t that convincing against Watford midweek, and if they put in a similar performance tomorrow afternoon, the Irons will have a decent chance of getting a good result.
