Manchester United eyeing move for West Ham star

Manchester United want to take Marko Arnautovic to Old Trafford this summer.

Arnautovic joined the Hammers as a club record £25 million signing from Stoke City last summer, and enjoyed a fine debut season at the London Stadium.

The Austrian finished the campaign as the club’s top scorer, and scooped West Ham’s Player of the Year award.

And his performances have attracted the attention of one Jose Mourinho, with the Portuguese manager now keen to add the 29-year-old to his attacking line-up next season.

Mourinho was in the stands on Wednesday night as Austria claimed a 1-0 friendly win over Russia, with Arnautovic providing the assist for the winner.

Mourinho worked briefly with Arnautovic during his time at Inter Milan and while he admitted the Austria star was a talented player, he criticised him for having “the attitude of a child”.

While still not one to shy away from controversy, Arnautovic has reigned in his behaviour both on and off the pitch in recent seasons.

West Ham are not believed to want to let Arnautovic, who has four years remaining on his contract, leave the London Stadium, and have slapped a £50 million price tag on him to deter interested parties.
