Manchester United Consider Withdrawing From Summer Battle For West Ham Star Over 20M Price Difference

Manchester United have reservations about West Ham midfielder Declan Rice which would make them reluctant to meet the Hammers’ £100m asking price, according to reports in the English media.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be keen on snapping up the England international but the club’s scouts are worried about the 22-year-old’s lack of pace and his inability to break the lines with his passing.

It means the Manchester club could look at other targets if they can’t reduce the Hammers’ asking price, with it being claimed that they may only be willing to spend £80m on Rice.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been mentioned as possible suitors for the midfielder, but their interest is not thought to be as strong as United‘s.

If the Red Devils do, in fact, withdraw from the race for Rice, it would be music to the ears of West Ham fans who are very much hoping that their vice-captain remains at the London Stadium.
