Lawrenson Makes His Prediction For West Ham’s Game Against Watford This Afternoon

TV pundit Mark Lawrenson is predicting a stalemate between West Ham and Watford in the final Premier League fixture of the season.

The Hornets do have an FA Cup final against Manchester City coming up so they would be forgiven for taking their eye off the ball for this game.

However, Lawrenson thinks Javi Gracia’s side have been more consistent than the Hammers this season, despite both having pretty decent campaigns:

“The Hornets were never going to sustain their flying start, which saw them win their first four league games, but they have been far more consistent than the Hammers.”

“West Ham, who are looking to sign off with a third successive win, have been much improved of late but they have plenty of blips over the course of the past nine months.”

“Every time I think they are going to kick on, they have gone missing – which must be frustrating for their manager Manuel Pellegrini – but overall they have also had a decent season.”

The former Liverpool defender has gone for a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road this afternoon. Considering West Ham’s excellent recent displays away from home, he could have easily predicted a victory for the visitors.

Over the past month or so, they have been unlucky to lose away at Manchester United and became the first team to take three points at Tottenham’s new ground.

With a good home win against Southampton in their last match as well, you would have to say that the team heading into the meeting in form are the away side.

Watford, in contrast, have won just one of their last five games since winning the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley in early April.
