Lawrenson Delivers His Verdict On Whether West Ham Will Beat Manchester United

TV pundit Mark Lawrenson believes West Ham will present Manchester United with a massive challenge when the two sides face off at the London Stadium on Sunday.

The former defender says he has been impressed with the Hammers this season and felt that they coped well when they had a man sent off against Aston Villa last time out:

“West Ham got a point with 10 men against Aston Villa on Monday, and played some good stuff at times as well.”

“I think the Hammers are an improving team, and I am expecting them to have a real go at Manchester United, who are yet to convince me with their performances this season.

Lawrenson has gone for a 2-1 win for West Ham which shows how highly he rates Manuel Pellegrini’s side. Of course, United are not the force they once were and Irons fans should be expecting their side to be more than a match for their opponents.

You also have to consider that the Red Devils have not won away from home since March when they achieved a shock result against PSG in the Champions League.

Having made an indifferent start to this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team could be there for the taking but West Ham will need to be at the top of their game to get the three points.
