Latest West Ham Injury News: Updates On Aguerd, Cornet And Three Other Players

West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd picked up a hamstring injury in Morocco’s match against Spain in the last 16 of the World Cup.

With the player also suffering with an illness, it seems unlikely that he will be risked in the semi-final against France on Wednesday night.

As the Hammers will be facing Arsenal in their first game back on Boxing Day, it is expected that Aguerd will be unavailable for the fixture even if he is fit due to Morocco’s extended run out in Qatar.

Maxwel Cornet has suffered a minor setback on his return from a calf problem. The Ivorian has been sidelined since October but there is optimism that he could be back in the squad to face the Gunners.

Aaron Cresswell did not feature in the friendly win against Udinese at the weekend due to a minor hamstring issue but Tomas Soucek started after recovering from a back injury.

Kurt Zouma has had surgery on a chronic knee problem, and he should be back in contention at some point in January.
