Kurt Zouma Claims He’s Already Noticed Something In Training That Makes Him A Big Fan Of Declan Rice

West Ham defender Kurt Zouma claims Declan Rice’s superb performances are based on a tireless work ethic.

Speaking after the 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday, where Rice scored a superb individual goal, Zouma said it was just rewards for a player who works his socks off on the training pitch:

“It was a great goal and a great game for Dec. Everything that’s happened to him, he deserves, because he’s working so hard in training and he’s a top guy – he deserves it all.”

Rice’s reputation is continuing to grow, having started the season in excellent form for both club and country. Teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are thought to be keeping close tabs on the England international’s situation.

The midfielder reportedly turned down two new contract offers from the Hammers in the summer, and he is said to have asked to be kept informed if any formal bids are made for him.

However, West Ham remain in a strong position to keep Rice. The 22-year-old’s current deal expires in 2024, and the club also have an option to extend his contract for a further year.
