Journalist Backs “Top Player” To Be A Success At West Ham If Club Secure Bargain Bundesliga Transfer

West Ham will be getting a “top player” if they manage to secure the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Hammers are said to be one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on the Frenchman. The centre-back will be available on a free transfer next summer when his contract at the Bundesliga side expires, and O’Rourke believes he would be an excellent addition to David Moyes’ squad:

“Ndicka is a top player, he’s proved that for Frankfurt over the last couple of years and there’s been other top Premier League clubs linked with him in the past. I think he would definitely be somebody who would definitely improve that West Ham defence and would be an upgrade on what they’ve got so far.”

In terms of the “other top Premier League clubs” O’Rourke is referring to, Arsenal and Manchester United have been mentioned as potential suitors for Ndicka over the past year, but recent reports suggest West Ham’s main rivals will be Sevilla.

The La Liga side are thought to be prepared to pay a transfer fee in the January transfer window to head off interest from other teams, such as the Irons, who are looking to sign a pre-contract agreement with the player.
