Jesse Lingard Has Informed Solskjaer Whether He Sees His Future At United Or West Ham

Jesse Lingard has told Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he wants to stay at Old Trafford, according to reports in England.

The 28-year-old has not completely written off a move to West Ham but it is now believed the forward would like to remain at United if Solskjaer has room for him in the first-team squad.

Lingard had a superb loan spell with the Hammers in the second half of last season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 16 appearances. However, a switch to the London Stadium doesn’t appear to be on the cards at the moment.

Irons boss David Moyes would like to bring in the England international on a permanent basis, so we shall see if the situation changes as the summer goes on.

There is a lot of competition for places at United and Lingard may discover that he is still quite a way down the pecking order. If that proves to be the case, he may reconsider his future. West Ham are not thought to be the only team interested in the forward, with Arsenal having been linked with the player back in April, but the player would probably prefer to move to the Hammers if he were to leave Manchester.
