Javier Hernandez hints he could leave West Ham at the end of the season

West Ham United striker Javier Hernandez has revealed he could leave the club this summer, less than a year after returning to England from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

The former Manchester United hitman joined the Hammers last summer a £7 million move, but has since endured mixed fortunes at the London Stadium.

Hernandez has been in-and-out of David Moyes’ side due to both injuries and the Scotsman opting to play Marko Arnautovic up-top.

The Mexico international came on as a substitute during the weekend’s clash with Chelsea, and hit a fine equaliser only moments after entering the fray to take his total to the season to eight goals.

And after a difficult first season with the Hammer, Hernandez has revealed he isn’t ruling out finding pastures new this summer.

“There has always been speculation as to whether I will stay or leave and I cannot guarantee anything,” he told Univision.

“I have two more years of contract with West Ham, and everything will come up.”

Hernandez however realises the decision to leave the club is not entirely up to him. The striker tried to force a move away from East London in January to find more regular playing time, but was denied so by the powers that be at the club.

And the Mexican says the same could happen again this summer if he tries to leave the club prematurely.

He added: “You never know, because in the winter period I wanted to find my way out to have more minutes and could not.”
