Jamies Redknapp Makes Bold Top Four Claim After Chelsea’s Slip Up Against Arsenal

West Ham are back in the frame for a top-four finish following Chelsea‘s surprise home defeat to Arsenal last night, according to Jamie Redknapp.

The Sky Sports pundit believes both the Hammers and Liverpool will be given fresh hope after the Blues slipped up at home to the Gunners:

“It’s a brilliant night for Leicester, it’s a brilliant night for Liverpool, it’s a brilliant night for West Ham. They’ll still believe now that they’ve got a chance. I think we all (thought) Chelsea would get three points, so it’s blown it wide open.”

David Moyes’ side can close to within three points of fourth with a win against Brighton on Saturday but, with Chelsea having the better goal difference (currently +12), it is still a very long shot.

The defeat to Everton at the weekend does appear to be the final blow in the Irons’ attempts to clinch a Champions League place this season but, even if it is out of reach, there are European spots still up for grabs.

Fifth and sixth will take their places in next season’s Europa League, while seventh will be handed a spot in UEFA’s new third-tier competition: the Conference League.
