Jack Wilshere rejected huge Champions League offer to move to West Ham claims report

Jack Wilshere turned down down a big-money deal and Champions League football to join the Hammers, a report claims.

Wilshere joined West Ham earlier this month on a free transfer from Arsenal, signing a three-year-deal at the London Stadium.

However the Daily Star claim the Englishman turned down an £8million sign-on fee and the potential of Champions League football with Turkish giants Fenerbahce to join the Hammers.

The Yellow Canaries could qualify for Europe’s elite competition if they beat Benfica over two legs in their third round qualification games next month – however Wilshere believed joining his boyhood club was more important than the prospect of playing in the Champions League.

Wilshere made 36 appearances for Arsenal last year in his final season at The Emirates, and made his West Ham debut earlier this week in a 2-2 draw with Preston North End.
