West Ham have yet to make a move for a high-profile player this summer, and some supporters are getting a bit worried about the lack of movement in the transfer market.
Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard are believed to be the Hammers’ top two targets and some fans on Twitter are concerned that the club may miss out on more attainable signings if they try and hold out for the two forwards:
And, it’s all going to end up with Chris Woods and some bargain-basement journeyman midfielder.

It’s a difficult balancing act. On the one hand, it is true that West Ham could overlook some very good alternatives by sticking to their guns on Abraham and Lingard. However, there is still over two months left in the transfer window and circumstances can change.
If Chelsea can’t find a buyer who will match their £40m asking price for Abraham, the Blues may be forced into selling for a lower amount or they could even consider a loan. With Lingard, if he doesn’t feature in the opening games of the season for United, he may get the hint that he isn’t wanted and the forward may ask to leave. A lot could happen in the market over the next few weeks.
