‘In The Next Days’ Journalist Claims West Ham Are Bracing Themselves For Bid From Chelsea

Chelsea are expected to make a formal offer for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice very soon, according to Sport Italia reporter Rudy Galetti.

The Italian journalist isn’t the most reliable but he claims that the Hammers will be holding out for at least £80m if they do receive an official bid:

Galetti’s asking price does seem a bit low, with most reports suggesting that Rice’s valuation is north of £100m, but it will be interesting to see whether Chelsea do actually decide to make a genuine attempt to snap up the England international.

The player does appear to be unsettled at the London Stadium, having already turned down two offers to extend his contract with West Ham. There has been some optimism in recent days that the Irons could match the 22-year-old’s £200,000 a week wage demands, but that may not be enough to tempt him into signing an extension if he does want to leave.
