“If Something Happens, Something Happens…” West Ham Star Drops Transfer Hint Amid Links With Move To PL Rivals

West Ham forward Michail Antonio has not ruled out leaving the London Stadium during the January transfer window.

The arrival of Danny Ings from Aston Villa has prompted further speculation about the Jamaican international’s future and, when asked if a transfer is possible this month, Antonio replied:

“My agent deals with all that and if something happens, something happens. Right now, I’m at West Ham and I have to pay attention to that. If something changes, it changes. We’ve got a striker in and are maybe looking at other strikers because, right now, we’re not doing it.”

“If they [West Ham] don’t want me or Gianluca [Scamacca], they are going to try and get someone out or they might want to have three options. You have to deal with whatever comes your way and that’s how I stand with it. I want to play football, and that’s all I care about.”

Wolves and Everton are believed to be the teams most likely to make a move for Antonio, although the Hammers may be reluctant to sell to one of their relegation rivals.

It was even reported earlier this week that Chelsea had enquired about loaning the 32-year-old, but the approach was knocked back as West Ham are only interested in selling the player.

Antonio was a key first-team player for the Irons not that long ago, and it has been a swift fall from grace, as he is now likely to be behind both Ings and Scamacca in the pecking order. We shall have to wait and see whether he does end up leaving the club in the coming days.
