‘I’d Take Him Over Fornals’ ‘Only If He Takes A Massive Wage Cut’ Fans Discuss West Ham’s Potential Swoop For United Ace

West Ham have held talks with the representatives of Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard in the last few weeks, according to reports in the English media.

The 28-year-old has recently had his contract extended until 2022 despite barely featuring for the Red Devils this season, but it is believed that he could leave Old Trafford on loan during the January transfer window, with the likes of Rangers and Celtic also said to be interested.

Manager David Moyes is looking for a forward who can play right across the front three. The club have been pursuing Bournemouth’s Joshua King and Lingard may well be another option the Irons are considering. Supporters on Twitter had a mixed reaction to a potential move for the United player:

It’s a difficult one. Lingard certainly has talent and would add a bit more depth to West Ham’s frontline, but the England international’s form has dipped alarmingly over the last two years. Whether Moyes would be the man to revive his career, it remains to be seen.
