West Ham will be joined by Chelsea in the race to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney, according to reports in the English media.
The 25-year-old has been on the Hammers’ radar for a while, but the interest from the Blues is a new development. The forward has been in excellent form in the Championship this season, having scored 30 goals in 44 league appearances, so it is perhaps not surprising that so many Premier League clubs have taken notice.
Toney’s asking price is believed to be £35m, though, and West Ham supporters on Twitter are uncertain over whether the Brentford star is worth the outlay:

Manager David Moyes has taken players from the Championship, such as Jarrod Bowen, and made it work before so you would trust the Scot if he feels Toney is the right player to strengthen his forward line.
The Irons are, however, thought to be looking at a number of different options, including Slavia Prague’s Abdallah Sima, Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.
