With the international break in full swing, some West Ham supporters have turned their attention to who they could sign in the summer.
A whole host of players are likely to be available on a free transfer, including Lyon forward Memphis Depay. Most fans on Twitter think it is very unlikely that the former Manchester United player would end up at the London Stadium but a few were slightly more optimistic:
He’s rejected us 3 times even when in europa

There’s a great chance of that happening. Don’t know why people think that’s unrealistic

No chance, we will look to Abraham, Armstrong and Sima anyway I reckon.

If the Hammers end up finishing in the Champions League places, you can’t rule anything out, but there is likely to be a long list of teams who will try to snap up Depay.
The 27-year-old may have not had the best of times at Manchester United, where he lasted just 18 months, but his spell in France has been an unqualified success, This season, he has scored 15 goals in 31 appearances for Lyon.
Whether Depay would be open to a switch back to England, it remains to be seen, but there would be no harm in, at least, enquiring with his agent.
