West Ham midfielder Declan Rice put in a stellar performance against Chelsea in the 3-2 win on Wednesday night and it has led to more talk online about the 21-year-old’s future.
A video compilation of the stand-in captain’s display at the London Stadium saw many Hammers supporters on Twitter praising the player, although some are concerned about how long they can keep hold of him:

Yes he is. I was trying to find passages that summed his game up, but they all did. Positioning is second to none. Rice place, Rice time…

As we have reported previously, Chelsea appear to be the team who are the keenest on signing Rice. The Blues were said to be considering a £45m bid for the England international even before Wednesday’s game.
Manager Frank Lampard is apparently interested in utilising him in defence as part of a back three, but West Ham will certainly not let him go without a fight.
Even in the current financial climate, the Irons will reportedly demand £70m for Rice and, considering his importance to the team, that may still be on the low side.
