West Ham have been heavily linked with Racing Genk striker Paul Onuachu in recent days, with the Nigerian target man also said to be in the sights of Watford and Arsenal.
When asked why manager David Moyes could be favouring the 27-year-old ahead of top target Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham, many supporters on Twitter agreed that the fact the forward is available for around €20m (£17m) may have swayed his thinking:
He’s a few quid cheaper as well?

Yeah he’ll be less than half the price, actually excited by him that bloke is a monster, goalscorer & quick, quite intrigued & worth the gamble.

Probably coz he wants someone that can head the ball, Tammy can’t

A number of strikers are reportedly on the Hammers’ radar, including Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck, Gent’s Roman Yaremchuk and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, but Onuachu appears to be the most likely signing currently.
The physically imposing forward is 6ft 7 but his all-round game is also said to be pretty decent so he could be a good fit for Moyes’ style of play. It remains to be seen, though, whether West Ham will make a formal offer for the player in the coming weeks.
