West Ham have not been able to agree a fee for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to ExWHUemployee.
There were reports in the Dutch media overnight that the Hammers had reached an agreement to snap up the Argentinian international, but the club insider says that is not the case:

Tagliafico has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City in previous transfer windows, and fans on Twitter are disappointed that a move for the defender has seemingly stalled:
He was so@cheap tho ?

Surely the owners can have a look down the side of the seats of their Bentleys and scrape that together, would be a great signing at that price

Is this deal 100% dead then? Or is there still a chance to agree a fee?

With hours remaining before the transfer window slams shut, it doesn’t seem that Tagliafico will be moving to the London Stadium this summer.
Of course, a lot can change between now and 11 pm but, from the sound of things, there is a gap that needs to be bridged on the transfer fee.
It is not believed that Ajax are demanding a great deal for Tagliafico, with suggestions that €12m (around £10m) could be enough to snap up Tagliafico but, after sizeable outlays on Kurt Zouma and Nikola Vlasic, the money may not be there.
