“Have Not Received A Bid” Journalist Provides Update As Chelsea, City And United Battle For West Ham Star

West Ham “have not received a bid” for vice-captain Declan Rice this summer, according to The Athletic‘s Roshane Thomas.

The journalist claims Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all still interested in the 22-year-old but the trio haven’t made a formal approach:

The main reason that clubs have so far steered clear of making an offer for Rice is due to the fact they know the Hammers have set an extremely high asking price. A minimum of £100m will be demanded and it appears that the three teams interested are not prepared to go anywhere near that figure.

Chelsea are prioritising a new striker, so they may decide to go with a cheaper alternative in midfield such as Benfica’s Julian Weigl or Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.

United are keen on snapping up a centre-back after they tie up a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho while City have recently agreed a new contract with Fernandinho.

It all points to Rice staying at the London Stadium for at least another year, which will delight West Ham supporters.
