Hammers tie down promising youngster

West Ham United goalkeeper Joseph Anang has revealed he is keen to begin working with the experienced Lukasz Fabianski, having just signed a professional contract with the London club.

Anang signed his first professional deal with the Hammers on Sunday, putting pen to paper on a three-year-deal that will see him remain at the London Stadium until 2021.

The 18-year-old ‘keeper will be working alongside former Arsenal stopper Fabianski, who joined the Hammers this summer from Swansea City, and says he is looking forward to working with the Polish international ahead of the new season.

“I am looking forward to continuing to work with those kind of figures at West Ham, and of course to meeting Lukasz Fabianski,” Anang said.

“And hopefully learning a lot from him too – he is a very experienced guy.”

Agang joined the Hammers as a scholar in July 2017, going from strength to strength in order to achieve a pro contract with the club.

West Ham United U16’s manager Jack Collison has praised the decision to tie down the youngster via Twitter, saying he is one of the hardest working kids he has seen.
