West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts after former star Andre Ayew starred for his new club Swansea at the weekend in a 4-1 win over the Hammers.
David Moyes’ side were humbled in South Wales by the Swans, who produced a terrific performance to move themselves out of the Premier League’s relegation zones for the first time since the opening weeks of the season.
And amongst their star men was former Hammer Andre Ayew.
The Ghana international joined West Ham in 2016 from Swansea in a then club record fee of £20 million, but was sold back to his former side only this January after a difficult and short-lived career at the London Stadium.
But the former Iron is enjoying life again with the Swansea, as demonstrated by his performance at the weekend.
Swansea opened the scoring after only eight minutes, when Ayew teed up Ki Sung-yeung who stuck home from outside the box. And the hosts’ lead was doubled just past the half-hour mark, when Ki turned provider for Mike van der Hoorn, who headed home from the South Korean’s corner.
Andy King made it three just after half-time poking home a flick on from Ayew at a corner, before Ayew was again involved 15 minutes later – winning a penalty against his former side which was duly converted by his team-mate and brother Jordan.
Michail Antonio scored for the second successive game with 12 minutes to play, however the goal proved little consolation on yet another day to forget for the Hammers.
And to add insult to injury, it just had to be Ayew who was the star-man, didn’t it?
Absolutely typical isn’t it that Andre Ayew is the calendar star for March.. pic.twitter.com/RkaEMnfcEv

Ayew has shown exactly why you don't sell to relegation rivals.

The most disappointing thing about this season is not that we didn’t strengthen in January. It’s that we actually made the squad weaker. The board can’t be shocked by these results or displays. Selling Sakho, Ayew, Fonte and buying only Jordan Hugill was short sighted.#Longseason
