Hammers complete their eighth signing of the summer!

West Ham United have completed the signing of 21-year-old Portuguese forward Xande Silva on a three-year deal from Vitoria de Guimaraes.

The youngster has represented Portugal at every level from the U15s to U20s, and has joined the Hammers for a reported fee of around £2m.

The Hammers unveiled the forward on Thursday and confirmed he will make his debut for the club’s U23 side in Friday’s training ground friendly against Watford.

Silva serves as West Ham’s eighth signing of the summer so far, spending close to £100m altogether and smashing their club transfer record on Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson.

Silva will join up with Anderson at the London Stadium, as well as Andriy Yarmalenko from Borussia Dortmund, Issa Diop from Tolouse, Jack Wilshere from Arsenal, Ryan Fredericks from Fulham, Lukas Fabianski from Swansea and Fabian Balbuena from Corinthians .

Speaking at his unveiling, Silva revealed that he was very happy to sign for the club, saying it is a ‘big dream’ of his to move to England.

“This is a very important moment for me. This is a new experience for me, out of Portugal. I am very happy to be here at West Ham,” he told the club’s official website.

“I am a technical player and I am very fast. I will give West Ham 100 per cent on the pitch every time I play.

“It’s a big dream of mine to play here in England.”

Silva could be joined at the Hammers by three more stars from the Portuguese league, with Porto’s Moussa Marega and Yacine Brahimi wanted in a double deal, as well as Benfica’s Joao Felix.
