Hammers chase Napoli striker

West Ham United are in the middle of one of their busiest summers yet. New manager Manuel Pellegrini has already landed Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski and Issa Diop ahead of next season, and has been linked with moves for plenty more players as the transfer window rumbles on.

Lazio’s Felipe Anderson is looking likely to secure his move to the London Stadium in the coming days, with the Serie A side and the Hammers reportedly close to agreeing a fee for the forward that could be in the region of £35m.

However, it seems Anderson won’t be the only forward heading to the London club this summer from Serie A, with Football Italia revealing the Hammers to be one of the many sides interested in Napoli striker Roberto Inglese.

The 26-year-old signed for Napoli last summer for €10m, but remained on-loan with Chievo where he scored 12 goals in 34 Serie A appearances.

It is believed that Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti, who arrived in Naples as manager this summer, sees Inglese as a player who is surplus to requirements.

Therefore it is likely the Italian will leave the Serie A giants, but only if a club matches their £17m valuation of the striker.
