‘Good Replacement For Carroll’ ‘Another Injury Prone Forward’ West Ham Fans On Twitter Debate £35m Swoop For PL Striker

West Ham are considering making a £35m offer for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, according to reports in the English media.

Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez has been the Hammers’ number one target up until now but a move for the Uruguayan appears to have stalled.

Instead, manager Manuel Pellegrini wants the London club to make a bid for Wilson. Fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the story:

Wilson does have a history of knee injuries, and following previous issues with both Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere, some supporters are justifiably concerned about signing another injury prone player.

It is also debatable whether Wilson could be secured for £35m. Bournemouth are not short of cash themselves and could hold out for a lot more. He has also been tracked by the likes of Chelsea in the past and may attract other suitors.

The England international is, though, a proven Premier League striker, unlike Gomez, and the 27-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions last season.
