West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen are both very interested in signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano
The 22-year-old has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates, and he is not expected to cost a great deal, but there has been a mixed reaction from fans on Twitter to the Hammers’ interest in the player:
Good backup for Antonio

Starting to think this might b true ! Won’t cost the earth giving Moyes the chance to spread what money he’s got around a bit ie cash for Firpo, back up CM etc !

As one supporter said, Nketiah would probably be a decent backup for Michail Antonio but he is hardly an inspiring choice, especially with David Moyes’ side having been linked with other strikers who are arguably much better players.
It is believed West Ham have been priced out of a move for their top target Tammy Abraham, while other names such as Gent’s Roman Yaremchuk and Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst have also been put forward.
Signing Nketiah would be somewhat of a gamble, with it being hoped that Moyes can help the forward realise his potential.
