Glen Johnson Names The Three Clubs Who Will Be Relegated From The Premier League This Season

Ex-West Ham and Liverpool defender Glen Johnson says he does not expect David Moyes’ side to suffer relegation from the Premier League this campaign.

The Hammers are still just three points off the dropzone despite their win over Fulham last time out but Johnson believes the London club will stay clear of trouble:

“I believe West Ham will do enough to stay out of danger. I think Southampton are the clear favourites to go down and I believe Everton and Nottingham Forest will be relegated alongside them.”

There are nine teams who could all yet be in danger of relegation. In addition to the clubs that Johnson mentions, Leicester are currently second from bottom on 25 points.

Leeds, meanwhile, are only two points above Nottingham Forest in eighteenth place, while Crystal Palace, Wolves and Bournemouth may get sucked into the battle for the drop if they are not careful.

Johnson’s confidence that West Ham will move away from the relegation places is likely based on recent results that have seen them pick up six points from their last three fixtures, but the 5-1 home defeat to Newcastle is still fresh in the memory, and they face league leaders Arsenal at the London Stadium this weekend. Nothing can be taken for granted at this stage.
