French Giants Weigh Up Mammoth £50m Offer For West Ham Defender

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing West Ham centre-back Issa Diop, according to the Daily Mail.

The Frenchman only signed from Toulouse for a club record fee in the summer, but his performances have already caught the eye of the Ligue One champions.

PSG are reportedly considering a £50m offer for Diop which would be more than double the amount that the Hammers paid back in July.

They had been tracking the 21-year-old even before he made the switch to the London Stadium, and the centre-half’s form since his move to England has further convinced them that he is worth the outlay.

In addition to the French giants, it is believed that Manchester United are considering an offer for Diop. Manager Jose Mourinho is unconvinced by the defenders he currently has at his disposal and is keen on the club signing another centre-back.

Given the impact the starlet has had for the Hammers you can see the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton and even Spanish giants Real Madrid also coming in for the imposing defender which would make it tough for West Ham to keep him.

Champions League football, a bumper new contract and the Hammers turning a serious profit on his transfer could see Diop join one of Europe’s biggest clubs maybe not in January but next summer seems like it is a distinct possibility.

So far this season, the France Under 21 international has played ten games in all competitions, with the Hammers conceding just 10 goals in that time.
