The seventh gameweek of the 2023/24 Premier League season has drawn to a close – how is your FPL team shaping up at this crucial stage?

We saw victories at the weekend for teams such as West Ham United, Luton Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers – but you won’t see any players from those teams in this list!

We’ll be looking at three players in this piece – they put forth excellent performances in game week seven for Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Aston Villa, respectively.

The players featured in this list consist of a defender, a midfielder and a striker – before we begin, can you guess who they are?

Joachim Andersen

First up is Joachim Andersen – the fact that he is only third in our list speaks volumes to the performances the players ahead of him put in at the weekend.

Not only was Andersen steadfast at the heart of Crystal Palace’s defence in their victory over Manchester United, he also scored the only goal of the game.

It was a fantastic strike by the Danish international, as he volleyed the ball from an awkward angle beyond Andre Onana in the Red Devils’ net. In total, he accumulated 15 FPL points.

Martin Odegaard

Next on our list is Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard – he was the architect of the Gunners’ dominant victory over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

He both scored and registered an assist against the Cherries. He netted a penalty in the first half, which was followed by him setting up Ben White’s goal in added time.

Odegaard picked up an FPL score of 17 for his excellent performance at the weekend – the Norwegian continues to prove his worth to the Arsenal squad.

Ollie Watkins

By far and away the standout performer at the weekend was Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins – he spearheaded Villa’s demolition job over Brighton, to the surprise of many.

Watkins fired a hattrick beyond the Seagulls – he also picked up an assist when he teed up Jacob Ramsey for the Villans’ fifth goal of the day.

All in all, Watkins picked up a mammoth FPL score of 23 – it was one of the highest individual scores in Fantasy Premier League so far this season.
