Felipe Anderson Speaks Out On Possible Departure Amid Claims West Ham Are Looking To Sell Up

West Ham winger Felipe Anderson says he does not know what the future holds for him, following reports that he could be sold by the Hammers this summer.

The Brazilian has been on holiday in Italy, meeting up with friends, but when asked by Radio Sei (quotes via La Lazio Siamo Noti) whether a return to Lazio could be possible, the 27-year-old was non-committal, saying that while he was still firmly committed to West Ham, he wasn’t ruling anything out:

“I am staying in Sardinia for another five days. I miss Rome, before coming here I was a few days in the capital with my friends since I had been missing for two years. Lazio is always in my heart, I cheer for my teammates. There were five wonderful years. Future? I don’t know, my head is at West Ham but let’s see what happens. A message to the Lazio fans? Thank you for your support, I send you a hug.”

Both Anderson and Manuel Lanzini are believed to be among the names that Irons boss David Moyes is looking to ship out in order to raise transfer funds. The London club’s interest in QPR attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze does suggest that Anderson’s days are numbered, but there are huge question marks over who could afford to sign him.

West Ham shelled out £36m on Anderson back in 2018 when Manuel Pellegrini was the Hammers boss and, while they wouldn’t expect to recoup what they paid, they are likely to ask for a sizeable transfer fee which many clubs won’t be able to pay. Really only the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and United could be bidders with only the London clubs genuine possible suitors as most other serious interest is likely to come from abroad.
